Yanari - The Witches Market

Yanari: The Witches Market is a fast-paced potion-brewing game from 1985 Games, set in a magical market in the city of Yatamon, in their Studio Ghibli-inspired world of Obojima. You play one of five skilled witches racing to brew potions for customers as they go about their lives, using ingredients, special abilities and your wits to become the most successful witch at the market.

Collect ingredient cards, then use them to brew the potions particular customers want. Brew exactly what a customer asked for to trigger their bonus reward, or give them an acceptable potion to score a few points and move on to new customers. You have two actions each turn, plus a possible bonus cauldron action, so good turns chain into combos. Each witch has a unique ability, and optional Special Ability and Secret Goal cards change the game from one play to the next. It takes about ten minutes to learn and around 45 minutes to play.
