War of the Ring (2nd Ed.)

War of the Ring Second Edition is the grand strategy board game of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, from Ares Games and designers Roberto Di Meglio, Marco Maggi and Francesco Nepitello. It lets you take part in the epic action, dramatic conflict and memorable characters of the story, across the whole of Middle-earth.

As the Free Peoples you command the proud hosts of the Third Age, from the horse-lords of Rohan and the soldiers of Gondor to the Elven lords of Rivendell, delaying the Shadow's onslaught while the Fellowship carries the Ring toward Mount Doom. As the Shadow you lead the hordes of the Dark Lord - Orcs, Trolls, Wolfriders and the dreadful Ringwraiths - to hunt the Ring-bearer or crush the free realms by force of arms. Two players take a side each; with three or four, players form two teams, one for each side. Expect a game of two hours or more.
